3 Easy Anti-Aging Hacks to Get Your Blood Pumping
What's the most critical factor in your health and well-being? The typical issues that come to mind are heart health, body weight, blood sugar, blood pressure, and mental fitness. It's a challenge narrowing it down, but all these conditions have one common denominator; poor circulation and blood flow.
Blood flow is crucial to your health and longevity. Without oxygen circulating through your body, your cells die. If proteins fail to reach them, your muscles, bones, and organs can't grow and heal. Everything you need for survival depends on blood flow.
Our circulatory system begins to slow down as we age, and junk builds up in our arteries. The pipeline delivering nutrients goes from a fire hose to a squirt gun. That's why it takes longer to heal, our skin is less elastic, we become forgetful, and the plumbing in our midsection loses its reliability.
So what's the key to maintaining proper blood flow? Nitric oxide!
Nitric oxide is a gas produced by your cells when oxygen and nitrogen combine at high temperatures. This molecule oxygenates your blood and keeps the vessels supple and dilated. When your blood vessels undergo a pressure change, nitric oxide allows them to remain flexible, allowing for healthy blood flow.
Nitric oxide is also responsible for keeping the free radicals created by oxidative stress in check. Low nitric oxide in your blood is a key marker for oxidative stress.
If you want to slow the aging process, increase your vitality, and improve your overall well-being, get your blood pumping with more nitric oxide.
You already eat your vegetables. Spinach, celery, onion, and garlic are high in nitrates. You also exercise regularly, which is the best method for better blood flow. But what are a few easy hacks you can add to your nitric oxide producing repertoire?
Breath through your nose
Are you a mouth breather? Breathing through your nose is probably the most effective way to increase nitric oxide production. Many of us are mouth breathers but fail to realize it because it happens while we're sleeping.
Do you snore, wake up with a dry mouth, or see drool stains on your pillowcase? If so, you, my friend, are a mouth breather. Breathing through your mouth at night also causes bad breath, cavities, and gum disease.
The easy hack to stop mouth breathing at night is to tape your mouth shut. You heard that right. Tape your mouth shut.
Are we telling you to head to the garage and grab a roll of duct tape every night? No, but your partner might be in favor of that option. They actually make mouth tape, and you can find it on Amazon. Fair warning, though. It will make you look like you're on one of those plastic surgery gone wrong reality shows.
If your grandmother only knew that those cold creams and night salves were useless and all she needed to do was keep her mouth closed to maintain a youthful glow.
Get some sun
Studies point to a distinct seasonal variation in blood pressure from summer to winter. Researchers attributed this disparity in seasonal blood pressure due to vitamin D from the sun and the higher temperatures until recently. When it's hot, blood vessels dilate to allow blood to pass closer to the surface of the skin for a cooling effect.
Further studies determined that vitamin D supplements don't produce the same effect, and temperature change affects blood pressure only slightly when indoors. Finally, a researcher in Scotland discovered that your skin contains a reservoir of nitric oxide that activates when exposed to UV light.
The level of nitric oxide released by UV light lessens as the subject's skin becomes darker. Unfortunately, this hack is less effective for those of us with naturally darker pigmentation, but on the plus side, we don't burn as quickly, so we can spend more time in the healing rays of the sun.

Take a supplement
Speaking of Anther, check out this article in the most recent edition of Hombre magazine. Anther also brings us to the easiest nitric oxide hack of them all - supplementation.
Supplements increasing nitric oxide in the body are some of the most popular on the market today. While these supplements don't contain nitric oxide, they include compounds that increase the production and make better use of this vital molecule.
One such nitric oxide producing compound is called L-citrulline. L-citrulline converts to nitric oxide in your body. Supplements containing this amino acid help increase blood flow by allowing blood vessels to relax and work more efficiently. If the aging of your penis is something you would like to delay as long as possible, take a supplement with the right combination of L-citrulline and other active natural ingredients.
Along with eating right and exercising, taking supplements improves your health and well-being naturally. Research shows that people who engage in at least one of these practices likely do all three. Think of them as the triad of anti-aging.
